The Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) and the Assam Baptist Convention (ABC) had a joint fellowship on October 4, 2018 at Covenant hall, Impur. ABC team was headed by Rev. Benard K. Marak General Secretary, ABC along with 20 leaders representing six Associations.
The joint fellowship was the first of its kind aimed to build stronger rapport and to work together in God's mission.
Speaking on the occasion Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger the Executive Secretary ABAM has termed the fellowship 'historic'. Of many historic events between the people of Assam and the Ao Naga, Evangelist Godhula Brown from Sibsagar, Assam has been the limelight following his entry to Naga hill in 1871 as forerunner of Dr. Edward Clark. Since then, he stated that the Assam Baptist Convention and the Ao Baptist Church Association have always been closer than any other associations.
He further assured of ABAM's help in every possible way and wished all success in their ministry.
An elated Rev. Benard K Marak the General Secretary of ABC remarked that the gathering was more than a fellowship as it served enthusiasm to go forward with great courage.He also shared the vision of ABC to come up with more churches by 2030 in Assam. He thanked Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger Executive Secretary, ABAM for the support rendered towards the success of the fellowship.
Following the fellowship, ABC had conducted an Executive Committee Meeting on October 4 & 5 at Impur.
