ABAM Sunday School was established in 1878 at Molungyimsen through the timely initiative of Mrs. Mary Mead Clark. During the initial years, Bible teaching was given to those attending regular School. Similar to the first Sunday School established by Robert Raikes in 1780 in England, her aim was to teach the three Rs (Reading, Writing & Arithmetic) along with the Scripture.
Since then it has grown tremendously under the blessing of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Today, ABAM Sunday School reaches out to 35,000 learners – both young and old every year.
ABAM S.S Vision: To carefully and diligently teach the Bible with a view to bring
wholistic change and transformation in the lives of learners as well as in
society.
Objectives:
1. To teach all age groups to be rooted in the Scripture.
2. To imbibe and inject the salvific message of Christ and become like Him.
3. To teach the tradition & history of the Church.
4. To teach contextually relevant truth.
5. To become effective witnesses of the Gospel.
